Does your school use social media to communicate instantly with people following your school, especially parents? If so, do you know that you can easily make links to your social media sites available at both the top and the bottom of every single page of your school’s web site. In the header it will look like:
Starting from the left, you see the Select a School dropdown and the language dropdown. Next is the icon that will link to your school’s Facebook page, following by your Twitter links, your Instagram Link and your YouTube link. In the footer, these same social media icons appear on the right side of the footer just left of the OCPS logo:
How can you get your social media links put in your school’s header and footer? Send the links to presence@ocps.net. You can even print the following image and write the URL’s in the appropriate boxes.
Does this preempt you from inserting social media feeds in your site? Not exactly, but it does make it less of a necessity, and by not embedding your social media into a page, the page will load faster.
